Guangzhou China, 19 Nov. 2016 – Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Chery Jaguar Land Rover” or “CJLR”) took the center stage at the 14th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition with the exciting all-new Jaguar XFL, Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport at Exhibition Hall 4.1, delivering on its firm commitment to bringing Chinese customers products with pure British lineage and world-class quality. At the press conference, Chery Jaguar Land Rover officially announced the Phase II Capacity Expansion Project. Built on Strong Corporate Capabilities, CJLR Made Exceptional Achievements after Four Years’ Development

With the vision of being the leading premium automotive company in China, providing aspirational customer experience, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has achieved extraordinary progress within four years since its inception. Within 18 months since production, it launched three all new nameplates under Jaguar and Land Rover brands at a pace rivaled by no other peers in the car industry. So far, all three nameplates are well received by the market, contributing to half of total sales that Jaguar Land Rover has achieved so far in China in 2016 and fuelling the sustainable sales growth of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands in the Chinese market.

In 2016, CJLR launched its first Jaguar nameplate – the all-new Jaguar XFL. Available at very competitive prices and tailor-made for Chinese consumers, the nameplate becomes a hit in the market, demonstrating the company’s precise market insight and opening a new chapter in dual-brand operation. In addition, the 2016MY Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport Special Edition were also launched in succession, offering a new compelling choice with pure British lineage, world-class quality and better value for the consumers who are into this brand.

Phase II Capacity Expansion Project as Part of CJLR’s Long-term Commitment to China Will Lay Solid Foundation for Future Excellence

With strong confidence in the Chinese market, Chery Jaguar Land Rover will steadily push forward its Phase II Capacity Expansion Project in a bid to better meet the needs of Chinese consumers and deliver on its long-term commitment to the local market. The project, including the construction of the second all-new Trim & Final shop and the expansion of the existing body shop, is established to increase the manufacturer’s annual capacity by 70,000 units, which indicates an over 50% growth.

Intelligent manufacturing plays a crucial role in the sustainable development of Chery Jaguar Land Rover. It can better guarantee our products’ global quality, improve production efficiency, and realise flexible production. Chery Jaguar Land Rover has been one of the first manufactures in China that implemented industrial internet of things   during the Phase I development, with integrated IT solutions covering all sides of production such as quality control and logistics. IT systems will continue to become a highlighted part of Phase II Capacity Expansion Project and will effectively serve the needs of operation and management, providing world-leading support for the company’s strategic goals.
