(SHANGHAI, 21 December, 2015) The year 2015 has seen remarkable achievements delivered by Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automobile Co., Ltd. (Chery Jaguar Land Rover). In this year, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has launched two world-class quality models – Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport. With three years of relentless efforts, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has now established strong corporate capability, including excellent systems of R & D, procurement, manufacturing, quality, marketing & sales, and human resources. Chery Jaguar Land Rover’s Changshu plant, accredited as the “global flagship factory”, has built up four core competencies of “advancement, high efficiency, environmental friendliness, superior quality”.

In line with the unified global purchasing standards and process, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has set up a complete supplier quality management system, including audit, training and technical consulting. The joint venture has set new supply quality benchmarks for Chinese premium auto manufacturing sector. So far, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has entered into partnership with more than 1000 suppliers both in China and overseas.
Integrated Marketing, Sales & Service (IMSS), jointly run by Chery Jaguar Land Rover and Jaguar Land Rover China, is interfacing with dealers and customers in a smooth and highly efficient way. By the end of 2015, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has 194 dealers in full operation across China, providing an easy access for Chinese customers to the premium products and services of Jaguar Land Rover brand.
Chery Jaguar Land Rover has been constantly building up a sound human resources system to deliver its commitment to “sharing value with employees”. In the innovative Sino-British Apprentice Programme, Chery Jaguar Land Rover joins hands with local colleges to train high-level technical workers for the joint venture. The training and development centre in Changshu plant has established a complete and sound system to keep training and developing a variety of high quality professionals. Chery Jaguar Land Rover sends local employees to Jaguar Land Rover UK for training on a regular basis in order to keep abreast of the latest developments in management and operational standards.
By the end of 2015, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has nearly 4000 employees, which has provided a wide spectrum of job opportunities to the local communities.
Four Core Competencies Set New Benchmarks for Premium Automotive Manufacturing
Chery Jaguar Land Rover Changshu plant is the first full-scale auto manufacturing base of Jaguar Land Rover outside UK. With world-class manufacturing facilities and top quality management system, Changshu plant is praised as the “global flagship factory”. The plant was ground broken in December, 2012, and was put into operation in October, 2014, setting the shortest time record of building up a joint venture auto plant in China.
Born in the time of Industry 4.0, Chery Jaguar Land Rover Changshu plant has implemented a large number of industry-leading technologies and equipment as well as a strict and complete quality management system. “Advancement, high efficiency, environmental friendliness, superior quality “are the four core competencies which the plant takes pride in. With the environmental friendly plant design, advanced and highly efficient manufacturing processes, the world-class quality centre and the unique health check line, the smart IT and logistics systems, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has set quite some new benchmarks for the premium auto manufacturing in China.

In 2016, the aluminium body shops will be put into operation in Changshu plant to produce more advanced and environmental friendly car models. A brand new Jaguar car model will be launched in 2016 to strengthen the joint venture’s product line-up. In the future, Chery Jaguar Land Rover will also produce and sell other Land Rover and Jaguar brand cars as well as the joint venture branded, tailor-made vehicles for the Chinese market.
