(11th January 2017 – Shanghai) Jaguar Land Rover China and Chery Jaguar Land Rover today announced the appointment of Frank Wittemann to the position of President, Jaguar Land Rover China and Chery Jaguar Land Rover Integrated Marketing Sales and Service (IMSS), effective 1st February 2017. He will replace Mark Bishop, who retires from the business at the end of January 2017.

Mr. Wittemann will be responsible for further developing the company’s activities with colleague James Hu, Deputy President IMSS. This appointment is crucial as the dual brands continues to build on the progress it has made since entering the China market in 2010.

Qing Pan said: “Firstly, I am delighted to welcome Frank to IMSS. He has a wealth of international experience, both at Jaguar Land Rover and other multinational automakers, and has made great strides in building brands, growing sales and enhancing service. I would like to wish the new IMSS leadership every success and also thank Mark Bishop for his contribution to IMSS. Since his appointment, Mark has driven our sales in China, achieving significant year-on-year sales growth in 2016. He leaves IMSS in a stronger and healthier state than when he started.”

Chen Anning, Chairman Chery Jaguar Land Rover, said: “I believe this appointment will further strengthen the collaboration between Jaguar Land Rover and Chery Jaguar Land Rover in China. Frank’s global experience in the automotive industry combined with James’ local knowledge will help IMSS further improve its marketing, sales and after-sales business in order to offer a better product and service experience to our Chinese customers.”

Mr. Wittemann has almost 25 years of experience in the automotive industry and has worked at Jaguar Land Rover across three continents since 2011. His most recent role was as Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Latin America and Caribbean.

Frank Wittemann, commenting on his new role, said: “It’s an honour and a privilege to be working for the IMSS in this crucial market. Mark has laid strong foundations for our future progress in China and we now have the capacity to further grow our business. I anticipate a strong 2017 and a continuation of Jaguar Land Rover’s sustainable development in China.”
