On April 17, 2019, the 18th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition was grandly opened at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Centre. Chery Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as “Chery Jaguar Land Rover”) brought the All New Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Discovery, Jaguar XFL, Jaguar XEL and Jaguar E-PACE, all of which will be displayed in Hall 6.1. Among them, All New Range Rover Evoque will make its China debut, and to go simultaneous global production at CJLR’s Changshu plant .This is yet another milestone in the development of Chery Jaguar Land Rover.
Simultaneous global production highlights Enterprise Strength
As a representation of Chery Jaguar Land Rover’s new stage of development, the All New Range Rover Evoque is made for the young generation, and is an intelligent luxury compact SUV underpinned by multiple state-of-the-art technologies. Its independently developed Ingenium Engine has won “Ward’s Top Ten Engine” award.
Chery Jaguar Land Rover President Murray Dietsch said that since 2012, Chery Jaguar Land Rover has developed steadily, accomplishing several firsts in the premium car market, and it is the only automotive company produces two luxury brands vehicles in China. The All New Range Rover Evoque is the first Jaguar Land Rover model to adopt the Premium Transverse Architecture (PTA). This platform enables multiple powertrain combinations and, importantly, is NEV ready. All of this will bring more product choices to Chinese consumers.
The Range Rover Evoque made a huge splash when it hit the Chinese market in 2015. It was not only the first Chery Jaguar Land Rover model produced at the Changshu plant, but also one of the most popular Land Rover models in the world. As another model of Chery Jaguar Land Rover’s simultaneous global production after Jaguar E-PACE, the All New Range Rover Evoque went through rigorous testing before it was released. More than 280 prototype vehicles went through tests to insure excellent quality and maintain our commitment to the “Customer First” concept.
Crafted in a precise manufacturing process, based on its complete infrastructure, systematic capabilities and global standards, the model features laser welding technology ensures a seamless connection between the roof and lower body. As a result, the gap between exterior panels was reduced by 42%, while that between LED headlights and their surrounds was reduced to just 1mm, thus promising an integrated and spectacular front view. Moreover, 99.9% of the model’s body components are newly designed, allowing consumers to enjoy a new-value experience.
The All New Range Rover Evoque will be put into simultaneous global production at the Chery Jaguar Land Rover Changshu Production Base, once again confirming the strength of our Global Flagship Plant and providing solid support for the global layout and localization of the Jaguar Land Rover brand. It is another milestone in the development of Chery Jaguar Land Rover. Implementing the “Intelligent Plus” Strategy and Continuing High-quality Development
