April 15, 2019, Shanghai, China: Racing to the Future – 2019 JLRC & CJLR Joint Media Night was held last night in Shanghai. In addition to the introduction of the “Destination Zero” vision, which is aimed at bringing a green and more effective mobility experience to global consumers, Jaguar Land Rover announced the Chinese name of its independently developed Ingenium engine family: Ying Jie Li. Set to start simultaneous global production by Chery Jaguar Land Rover, the All New Range Rover Evoque made its China debut at the event. In 2019, Jaguar and Land Rover will continue to convey iconic British glamour to more Chinese consumers under the themes of “Year of Racing” and “Year of ATRS”, respectively.

Ingenium Engine Family Empowers the Future with Efficiency
JLR has been dedicated to developing the most advanced, efficient technology. At the event, JLR announced the Chinese name – Ying Jie Li – for its Ingenium engine family, which is designed, developed, and manufactured in-house by JLR.
As the most advanced engine range developed in-house by JLR to date, the Ingenium engine family is at the core of JLR’s low-emissions powertrain strategy. Ingenium engines adopt a cutting-edge modular design, high flexibility makes it possible for Ingenium engines to meet the assembly needs of different models. Which lays the foundation for JLR’s diversified product mix.
Racing to the Future
In 2019, Jaguar and Land Rover will roll out diverse marketing events themed “Year of Racing” and “Year of ATRS” respectively, creating an unprecedented brand experience for consumers.
Jaguar, a time-honoured brand with rich racing legacy, will leverage racetracks as the optimal platform for consumers to experience its “Art of Performance”. Highlighted by “one marketing campaign, two racing events, and three Chequered Flag editions,” 2019 marks the “Year of Racing” for Jaguar. The brand will hold more than 200 events under the theme of “Jaguar Day” this year, offering consumers the opportunity to experience Jaguar products. Jaguar will fully demonstrate its Racing DNA at FIA Formula E, one of the world’s largest platforms for NEV technology, and its official supporting series Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY.
As an important part of the “Year of Racing” for Jaguar, the F-TYPE Chequered Flag Edition, which is defined as the modern British sports car, has also made its China debut at the Joint Media Night. F-TYPE Chequered Flag Edition fully demonstrates the brand’s racing DNA and convey its “Race to Innovate” principle with its extraordinary performance and exclusive chequered flag elements. Jaguar F-PACE Chequered Flag Edition will make its debut in Shanghai international Auto show. In addition to F-TYPE and F-PACE, Jaguar’s third Chequered Flag Edition will be introduced in 2019.

Land Rover’s famed large-scale brand campaign – the Never Stop Discovering Season VII – will set off towards Xinjiang this year to expand Land Rover Road Trip Rating System and to explore brand-new experiences for discoverers. ATRS Academy will host rich road-trips for customers with different needs and different levels of driving skills, offering them an in-depth insight into Land Rover’s trademark ATRS capability.

All New Range Rover Evoque Revealed: Strengths Set New Tide
Land Rover’s hero model – the All New Range Rover Evoque – was featured heavily on the night. Highlighted by “whole new generation based on two tech platforms and three innovative technologies,” the All New Range Rover Evoque perfectly manifests a concept of “intelligent luxury compact SUV underpinned by multiple state-of-the-art technologies,” redefining a benchmark for its segment.
This is the first Range Rover Evoque model to adopt the Premium Transverse Architecture (PTA). Powering the car is the Ingenium 2.0-litre engine coupled with a 48-volt MHEV system, which allows for class-leading acceleration while maintaining superb fuel economy.
