(August 29th, 2021, Chengdu) The 2021 (24th) Chengdu Auto Show (hereinafter as “CDAS”) had its opening today. Led by the new global strategy “Reimagine”, Jaguar and Land Rover made a stunning presence at the show with a number of new models, defining the future of Modern Luxury by its powerful product matrix.
At the press conference, Land Rover launched a number of important new models of the Defender family and the Range Rover family: 22MY Defender 90, MSRP from RMB 698,000 – 848,000; 22MY Defender 110 P400e, Defender’s first PHEV in China market, at RMB 798,000; Range Rover Evoque L P300e, the second domestically built luxury PHEV, at RMB445,800; Range Rover Sport China Summer Edition, at RMB 1,058,000. Jaguar also unveiled its 22MY F-TYPE, a new British sports car, MSRP from RMB 582,000 – RMB676,800.

Not long ago, the Defender family celebrated its first anniversary of entering China market, with a still-growing market demand for 110 and 90. At this CDAS, Land Rover brought 22MY Defender 90 to China .
With its unmistakable profile, unrivalled all-terrain capability, advanced intelligent technology, and 3-door 5-seat layout, the 22MY Defender 90 fully caters to the needs of extreme all-terrain conquest and urban daily mobility. It is the go-to model for young customers who pursue individuality and freedom. The 22MY Defender 90 has a new member powered by a 300PS Ingenium 2.0T engine with peak torque of 400 N·m, as well as an 8-speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, at this year’s CDAS, Land Rover also launched 22MY Defender 110 P400e, the family’s first PHEV in China market. This model perfectly balances dynamic performance and fuel economy. It is an innovative embodiment of extreme performance– the essence of the Defender family.
Carrying on the Defender’s unparalleled off-road capabilities, the 22MY Defender 110 P400e is also the most fuel-efficient model in Defender family. It features a 300PS Ingenium 2.0-litre turbocharged engine combined with a 104PS electric motor. The combined power output is 404 PS and the peak torque is 640 N·m. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. This powertrain offers greater torque and consumes less fuel when reaching the same power as the 3.0-liter petrol engine. Its NEDC fuel consumption is low to 2.8L/100km. When fully charged, the 19.2 kWh battery delivers an NEDC all-electric range up to 53km. It is worth mentioning that the Defender 110 P400e is also the world’s first hybrid model with a twin-speed transfer box. Defender 110 P400e can be recharged in three modes: family charging, AC wall box, and DC fast charge. When using a 50kW rapid DC charger, it takes just 30 minutes to charge to 80%. In the 7 kW AC slow charging mode, the battery can be charged from 0 to 100% in merely 2.5 hours.

Refined Luxury as Family Heritage
In 1970, the birth of the original Range Rover started a whole luxury SUV segment. The Range Rover Evoque L P300e produced in Changshu Flagship Plant is built on the advanced PTA platform, which meets intelligent and electrified assembly requirements. The new model has both DC and AC charging modes: 0-80% takes just 30 minutes in DC fast charge, and 1.5 hours in AC slow charge. Its 56 Km EV-only range is sufficient for urban commute. While in hybrid mode, the vehicle has a total power output of 309 PS and 540 N·m peak torque, with acceleration of 0-100km/h in just 7 seconds, yet the fuel economy is down to 1.9L/100km. It is worth mentioning that Range Rover Evoque L P300e provides original warranty service for battery over a period of 8 years or 160,000 km.

In 2012, Jaguar sports car returned by launching F-TYPE. It reinterpreted luxury sports car in a modern way. A new Jaguar F-TYPE was revealed globally on December 2019. For exterior, the subtly enlarged grille features F-TYPE word marque and hexagon cell design with gloss black facings and satin finish inner surfaces. Super-slim Pixel LED headlights with ‘Calligraphy’ J signature daytime running lights accentuate the purposeful, confident stance. Slender rear lights with ‘Chicane’ signature draws a beautiful curve line when it turns.
22MY Jaguar F-TYPE features an Ingenium 2.0T engine, which offers a maximum power of 300 PS, a maximum speed of 250 km/h, and an acceleration from 0-100 km/h in only 5.7 seconds. The intelligent ZF 8-speed Quickshift transmissions with full manual control using either the SportShift gear selector or the steering wheel-mounted paddles. Front and rear aluminium double wishbone independent suspensions provide a perfect balance of manoeuvrability, agility, and response.
